Hi there! Welcome to the Restored Home Organising Blog, where you can learn how to make your home look and feel organised and beautiful, tips and tricks on how to make the most out of your storage spaces and how to create habits that will lead to a peaceful and fulfilling life. This blog is a way for you to get to know me and for me to inspire you and provide you with gentle guidance and helpful advice. I welcome you to join me on this exciting and fun journey, as I share ideas and thoughts with you through a monthly blog post, on how to live with purpose, intention and joy and how to turn your home into your sanctuary.

Who I Am

I’m Lauren, a professional home organiser located in Apley Castle, a small area in Telford, UK. I have always been a firm believer in To-Do lists and scheduling tasks into my diary, as far back as I can remember. This, together with a passion and love of all things interior styling and design, lead me to the career path of becoming a professional organiser.

When I was younger, I loved every moment of interior decorating my childhood home with my mom. I would rearrange my bedroom every year to create a welcoming sanctuary where I felt calm, happy and at peace, although there was a stage where half of my wardrobe ended up on my bedroom floor! As an adult my passion for interiors and organised spaces grew and I loved every moment of helping friends and family create document filing systems, home move schedules and tidy spaces. I started to realise that my happy place was a place that looked peaceful and organised and felt good to be in and it brought me joy helping others experience the same thing.

Once I had I finished university, with a degree in Biology, I started working in a lab that did DNA testing. I’d wanted to be a scientist since I was a little girl. I was excited to start my career in science and enjoyed my first few days in the lab, but as the excitement wore off and I got into more of a routine, I started to realise that I enjoyed organising the lab equipment more than the actual lab work! Working in the lab just didn’t feel right in my soul. Something was telling me that there was more to life than what I was experiencing.

I felt disconnected from myself and my purpose in life. I felt anxious and stressed out when I woke up in the morning and I knew that something wasn’t right. This led to a deep soul-searching mission and I realised I needed to make a change to the life that I was living. I didn’t want to force myself to live a life that didn’t feel good, or authentic to me. This is where the journey of Restored Home Organising began. I started delving into research and training on how other people had followed their love of organising and created successful careers by helping other people get organised in their homes. I knew then that I needed to follow my passion for organisation and interior styling and that I wanted to help other people to create lives that felt good and purposeful to them, too.

How I can Help You

I want to change your life by helping you create a beautiful and organised home that you love being in, where you can feel calm, at peace and restored. We only get one life; I want to make it my mission to encourage you to love your home and life by helping you remove the stress and overwhelm of unorganised spaces and habits.

How I Decided on My Business Name

The name Restored Home Organising represents the journey we take together, because of the holistic approach that I take when organising a space. I invite the family I am helping to feel good, at peace and restored while we are re-storing and organising items in their home. I am a Christian and love this scripture and the meaning that it brings to my life and business:

Psalm 51:12
12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.

The Restored Home Organising Process

Restored Home Organising has a holistic approach to restoring peace in your physical spaces as well as in your mind and body. We work together to help you develop new and productive organising habits that are built around peace of mind and tranquillity. By assessing the space that you want to get organised and creating an Organising Plan of Action to work from, your space will be transformed into one that looks and feels functional, organised and peaceful, to both the eyes and the soul.

Restored Business Values

Kingdom-Based Principles
God is first and foremost the centre of this business, every decision that is made will be based on whether the decision aligns with God’s word and God’s purpose.

Work-Life balance

A big part of why I decided to start this business was to be able to have freedom in my schedule and be able to spend quality time with my family as often as possible. I want to encourage you to adopt this same goal and help you achieve this by creating a peaceful and organised space for you to enjoy with your family.

Honesty

I want to be completely honest and transparent with you through our journey together.

Integrity

I want to have integrity through my words and actions.

Ethical Business

I want to operate my business in an ethical way.

Compassion and Kindness

Kindness and compassion while dealing with you as a client, and myself, is essential to creating an authentic and graceful atmosphere.

Joy, Happiness and Fulfilment

Restored Home Organising is built on a foundation of finding joy, happiness and fulfilment through helping you create a home that brings you peace and joy.

Some Fun Facts About Me

• I was born and raised in South Africa
• I get super excited about any new organising products or home décor that I connect with
• I love to travel and explore new areas and cultures
• I have two cats, but I love all animals
• Nature restores my soul
• My favourite places to visit in the UK are The Lake District, The Scottish Highlands and Cornwall
• If I wasn’t a professional home organiser, I’d be a travel vlogger

In my own experience, having a home filled with items that bring me joy and that I find useful, fills me with peace and warmth. It is much easier to tidy up when there is less that needs to be put away and when all the items have a home of their own that they belong in. As the saying goes, “A place for everything, and everything in its place”. Even our cats’ toys have a home of their own! It isn’t about creating a magazine-worthy home that doesn’t realistically represent what a family home is actually like, but rather, making life easier and less stressful by having organising systems and habits that allow you to spend more time relaxing and enjoying quality time with your loved ones.
I look forward to seeing where this journey will take you and how the Restored Home Organising blog can help you get there.
